Gentlewoman Movie Review

Review by MD Ekram Parvez – Watchmoviesonline.in

Rating: 4/5

“Gentlewoman” is a gripping tale of revenge and empowerment, directed by Joshua Sethuraman. The film stars Lijomol Jose as Poorni, a seemingly docile housewife who takes matters into her own hands after her husband’s infidelity and mysterious disappearance. The narrative is a slow burn, taking its time to build tension and reveal the complexities of Poorni’s situation.

The film’s strength lies in its powerful performances and sharp storytelling. Lijomol Jose delivers a standout performance as Poorni, capturing the essence of a woman pushed to her limits. The supporting cast, including Losliya Mariyanesan as Anna and Hari Krishnan as Aravind, also shine in their roles, adding depth to the narrative.

Govind Vasantha’s score complements the film’s mood, enhancing the tension and emotional beats. The cinematography is efficient, translating the director’s vision neatly without overdoing it. However, the film’s pacing can feel uneven at times, and some dialogue is frustratingly muffled.

Despite these minor flaws, “Gentlewoman” serves up a satisfying meditation on the consequences of treating women as disposable. It invites viewers to reflect on modern relationships and women’s experiences, making it a compelling watch.
