“Tires” Season 2 continues to build on the foundation laid by its predecessor, offering a mix of crass humor and character-driven drama. This season, the show aims for more than just wheel-spinning, setting its characters on a path to chase grander horizons.
The series, created by Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben, and John McKeever, follows Will (Steve Gerben) as he takes over his father’s auto shop, dealing with the antics of his cousin and employee, Shane (Shane Gillis). The dynamic between Will and Shane is the heart of the show, providing both humor and tension as they navigate their personal and professional lives.
Season 2 introduces new characters and guest stars, including Thomas Haden Church as Phil, Shane’s wealthy but immature father. The addition of these characters brings fresh energy to the series, making the performances more likable and the humor more engaging.
However, the show’s reliance on crude humor and stereotypical jokes can sometimes feel tiresome. The long stretches of straight-male characters trying to out-alpha each other grow repetitive, and the humor often falls flat. Despite these shortcomings, “Tires” Season 2 offers a decent watch for those looking for lighthearted entertainment.
Overall, “Tires” Season 2 is a step up from its first season, with improved confidence and more energetic performances. It’s not a masterpiece, but it provides enough laughs and engaging moments to keep viewers entertained.

“Tires gets some chuckles by kicking around Shane Gillis’ self-aware persona, but this unambitious sitcom will need to rev up the inspiration to get real traction.” Read The Full Review Here.

“‘Tires’ breaks no ground, but I have to admit to being somewhat refreshed by a comedy that doesn’t aspire to do much more than make people laugh.” Read The Full Review Here.
