The climactic chase involving SUVs and gun-toting baddies takes place in the shadow of the Sphinx, and a leading man who seems to have internalised the mantra — see neck, will slice. But like in the first part, and the way this one ends, which leaves us in no doubt that there will be a third, no one has bothered answering that question: how does a software engineer turn into roaring Rambo? Does he have a secret life that we are not aware of? Maybe the third part will give us those answers.

Jitan Harmeet Singh’s cinematography is appropriate. Faruk Kabir and Yannick Ben’s action design, Yannick Ben, Amin Khatib, Vidyut Jammwal and Faruk Kabir’s action choreography and Andrew Mckenzie’s stunts are very gory and full of bloodshed. Ashwini Shrivastav’s production design is realistic. NY VFXWaala’s VFX is neat. Preeti Sharma’s costumes are authentic. Sandeep Francis’s editing could have been slicker as the film is slow.

Even though the premise is anything but novel and the treatment suffers from sensationalism in a number of instances, the movie is top-notch cinematically. As a director, Faruk Kabir handles the reins of the film well, as Jitan Harmeet Singh provides him able support as a cinematographer. Unsurprisingly, though, the action is outstanding — especially when Sameer takes on a jail bully, Jaiswal, who’s given a contract to kill him. It’s easily one of the most memorable scenes. The chase in the climax is just as thrilling.
